Brand Profile
Aguaplano Libri was founded in 2009 as a publishing house of nonfiction (in the fields of humanities, psychology, literature, philosophy, and social theory) and art books, with the guiding principle of quality publishing: a limited number of titles, well distributed—through a network of bookstores and other outlets specifically designed for each volume—and brought to readers' attention through an intense program of seminars, presentations, and themed events.
In 2014, “Lapsus calami” was launched, a contemporary poetry series and an ongoing workshop for authors from diverse backgrounds. In Lapsus calami series experiments connected to the immediate, fluid, and fragmented world of social networks coexist with more traditional works, the result of rewritings and revisions that have matured over time.
“Glitch” is the series that experiments with a different relationship between traditional publishing and the web, reversing the terms of the issue: rather than chasing the digital market by transforming books into ebooks, with Glitch we select, edit, and publish in print the best content produced for websites, blogs, online magazines, and social media profiles.
“Blaupause”, the German term for blueprint, the proof: this is the name we chose to give to the Aguaplano fiction series, because the blue pause corresponds to that moment, in the frenzy of editorial work, when everything stops. Blaupause: like a pause and a breather before decisions are made, before paper and ink.
Aguaplano is also a workshop for books and editorial production. It offers a wide range of services, from professional editing to video composition, from graphic design to liaison with printing services, from text revision to translations.
